NATARSHA USES HIGHGEAR THROUGH THE HILLS

Fairly new to the scene, but already proving her stuff, on and off road triathlete Natarsha Jazepczyk can often be seen out on the field in her hot pink suit, really spicing up the track.  She admits she isn’t the biggest fan of pain, but with her success and iron man and X-Terra goals for the upcoming year you would never know it.

Although Natarsha openly admits that pain is not really her closest friend she concedes that her drive to improve on past performance and desire for personal fulfilment is far greater than her concern “pain is neither my friend nor enemy, but more my personal character builder”.

With massive aspirations to succeed, we are sure to see great things from this pink prowess over the next year.

Natarsha uses a Highgear Loft with heart rate monitor to enhance her training.

MARK FEENEY GOES HARD WITH HIGHGEAR

Hardcore endurance mountain biker Mark Feeney has his sights set high aiming for a place in the top five in the XTERRA Worlds in Hawaii this year.  Competing in races that take up to 24 hours to complete, Mark is about as tough as they get and willing to fight it out to the end.  “When I turned to endurance racing I found that I could mix it up with some of the best,” Mark says.

“This form seems to suite me, being able to pace myself and keep it going for the entire race”.

Mark chooses to use a Highgear Duo for his racing and training, another tool to ensure he is pacing him self correctly to take on the best.

TRE-X SUCCESS

The first Tre-X Off Road Triathlon series was a great success, with triathletes from across the state participating in the event, and trying something new.  Highgear was there throughout the whole series cheering on competitors and offering assistance and guidance on selecting the best heart rate monitor or adventure wristware for them.

Not your usual Triathlon event, the Tre-X Off Road Triathlon incorporated a 450m dam swim, 10km mountain bike on fire trails and singles tracks, and a 4km run through bush tracks and along creeks in some of Australia’s beautiful natural bushland. Tre-X have also announced that another series will be run, encouraging more to try the new event.

PROFESSIONAL TRIATHLETE MATT MURPHY OPTS FOR HIGHGEAR

Triathlete Matt Murphy has set himself the massive goal to become the best and most consistently top performing triathlete in the world, and he has asked Highgear along for the ride.  And with a goal like that, how could we resist.

Matt has successfully represented Australia as a junior and under 23 at the Word Championships with even bigger goals of representing Australia as an elite athlete in the Olympic and Commonwealth Games.

Matt chooses to use a Highgear Duo and finds them to be a valuable asset in his training and racing plan.

TEAM MAGELLAN TRY TO NAVIGATE 19.2KM ROTTNEST CHANNEL SWIM

After months of training and preparation, Swim Team Magellan, headed by Commonwealth Games gold medallist Rachel Harris were ready to take on the seasoned long distance swimmers in the 19.2km Rottnest Channel Swim.  But after much anticipation the event was cancelled for safety reasons.

Not willing to let the weather get the better of them, the girls headed down to Scaroboro Beach to prove their worth, only to be dumped and thrown around by the waves, reinforcing just why the event was cancelled.

Better luck next year Team Magellan.

Magellan, Highgear and Aquapac were major sponsors the Rapid Ascent's adventure races being run on the Gold Coast QLD, Geographe Bay WA and Loren VIC 2006.

The Gold Coast event just saw Team Highgear consisting of Sally Kite (Next Destination's PR and Marketing Coordinator), Greg Kite, Carl Gregory and Steve Cooper (Manager of www.sleepmonsters.com.au), swimming, paddling, running and mountain biking some very rugged conditions and terrain to come in third in the corporate mixed team division.
